Evan Cheng is the Co-Founder and CEO of Mysten Labs, the company behind the Sui blockchain and a leading builder of infrastructure for the decentralized internet. With more than two decades of experience in platform development, he has led engineering teams at major technology companies including Apple and Meta, where he directed work on programming languages, developer platforms, and blockchain research initiatives. Before founding Mysten Labs in 2021, Evan led Novi Research at Meta, contributing to the development of advanced blockchain technologies and the Move programming language. Earlier in his career at Apple, he played a key role in compiler technologies and large-scale developer tooling, and he was a recipient of the ACM Software System Award for his work on the LLVM compiler infrastructure.
