Neil DeSilva is the Executive-in-Residence at the Initiative for CryptoCurrencies & Contracts (IC3) the preeminent academic consortium in blockchain, based at Cornell Tech in NYC. Neil previously was CFO of PayPal Digital Currencies & Remittances, where he had P&L responsibility and brought to market PayPalUSD—the first Fortune 500 stablecoin—now with $4 billion in circulation and availability to 700 million users worldwide. A proven innovation executive, Neil has played a key industry leadership role in the institutional, retail & regulatory adoption of digital currencies. Prior to PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL), Neil was CFO of the Trading business unit of Galaxy (NASDAQ: GLXY). He also held roles as Head of FP&A and Head of IR. Prior to Galaxy, Neil was Head of M&A and IR at DXC Technology (NYSE: DXC), formerly Computer Sciences Corp. (NYSE: CSC). Prior to DXC, Neil was Managing Director at León, Mayer & Co., a private equity firm founded by investors previously at KKR and Goldman Sachs. Before that, he was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and began his career as a tech founder & entrepreneur. Neil earned an M.B.A. at MIT, where he was named a Thomas Peterson Scholar. He earned a B.A. in History and a B.A. in Economics at Cornell University, where he graduated magna cum laude as a Cornell College Scholar. Neil also studied at the London School of Economics and is a CFA charterholder.
